SANDRA BROWNBRIDGE: The Update of ME

Sandra Brownbridge's Museum of Me showcased her life of gratitude, community service, and family.

As a long-time resident of Cheylesmore, Sandra has dedicated her career to adult education, helping students build confidence, and later became a Lay Chaplain at Coventry Cathedral.

She reflected on her family, including the joy of raising twins and the loss of her adventurous son, Ian. Sandra’s strong faith and passion for community continue to shape her work and legacy.

We often catch up with her in the local C3 Cafe, but we also loved receiving the update below from her:

Here’s my update!
Happily, I’ve kept in contact with Erin [Her Museum of Me Storyteller who worked with her to uncover her story] and we met up recently in C3 coffee shop on 20th Sept, after my Conversation Cafe in the library.

The C3 Cafe is thriving. I now have students from Brazil, Romania, Somalia, Hong Kong, Mexico and India joining in my Conversation Cafe. It is helping them to learn English through conversation.

Someone who I didn’t know previously, visited my museum and asked me to give a talk about it to a group for which she is ‘speaker organiser.’ The talk generated a fee for me which the group were happy for me to donate to a charity of my choice.

Update on my grandchildren:
My Grandson Jack graduated from Bristol Uni in July (law) and began work at a Bristol law firm at the end of August.
Granddaughters Zoe and Grace, although from Plymouth, were able to attend my museum as they were visiting me for the Harry Styles concert. They have also made good progress.
Zoe got the ‘A’ level grades which she needed to secure a place at Warwick uni (English), and has just started there.
Grace achieved good GCSEs and has gone on to sixth form.
